Botanical Name: Fothergilla Gardenii

Dwarf Fothergilla is a dwarf deciduous shrub famous for its soft blue foliage that turns into blue green every Summer. In fall, its foliage appears to be yellow, orange and red. It is notable that all three colors are present in one leaf. During Spring, it blooms with beautiful, creamy white flowers with a scent of honey. The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society awarded the Dwarf Fothergilla with a Gold Medal Award. It loves full sun and is low maintenance. It is resistant to many kinds of pests and diseases. It is best grown in moist, acidic and well-drained soils. To get an optimum floral result, plant it in a spot that gets the most sunlight. This magnificent dwarf shrub is ideal to be used as a specimen, border and hedge, as well as for rain gardens and foundation plantings. Its maximum height and width could reach up to 5 feet.
